A few of the local attractions...

Dover's a wonderful place: friendly, historic, attractive and packed with interesting museums and ancient buildings (and not just the castle, though it is of course quite magnificent). What's more it's at the seaside... Apart from it's beaches it has a working dock, passenger ferries and boats (perfect for day-trips), splendid walking country, sleepy villages near by (complete with their sleepy old village inns)... what we don't understand is why so many people rush through on their way to somewhere else without noticing that they've just missed the perfect spot for a holiday!

There are plenty of relevant websites for you to visit, detailing the many fantastic (and sometimes unexpected!) local attractions and activities. Rather than try to duplicate them, here are several useful links to help you get started with your researches and to plan your break:

The White Cliffs of Dover
The Secret Tunnels aren't that secret anymore! And here's another tunnel link.
South Foreland Lighthouse (a National Trust property).
Crabble Corn Mill. [See also the Friends of Crabble Corn Mill's website]

The nearby Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway. Famous throughout the world as the only mainline in miniature!
